Open call for advising, Death and Taxes 2010

Open call for advising, Death and Taxes 2010

Posted on 15. May, 2009 by Jess in death and taxes

So the Obama’s administration released their full budget numbers last friday through the OMB.  This information which is thousands of pages long contains all the spending estimated for the federal goverment for 2010.  Usually this data is released the first Monday in February, but due to a new administration and recent economic activity, it has been delay until last week.

This data set, along with thousands of pages from the Department of Defense Comptroller serves as the core numbers for the Death and Taxes series of posters.  Now that it is release, I have begun work on Death and Taxes 2010, which I hope to make available in 4-6 weeks.

Now, I never claim to be an expert on taxes or the federal government and it’s spending.  I am really just a graphic designer with this massive project that I have refined over the course of several years.  Usually the numbers are pretty straight forward from year to year, and when they are not, I have a gaggle of smarter-than-I experts to assist me.  This year though, the numbers have extra layers of confusion due to a change in administration and the influx of stimulus funding.

So what I am requeting is that if you are an expert or knowledgable person in the areas of federal spending, federal government or just know your way around federal budget documents, and you are willing to be available to answer questions from time to time, the please let me know.  I always make every effort to ensure accuracy when creating the poster so to have an extra pair of brains at my disposal would be great.  Even if you are only knowledgable about one department, like the Dept of Education, or one small area of government, it would be useful to have you available if related questions arise.

If you know someone who might be of assistance please forward this post to them as well.  The Death and Taxes poster is the most open and accessable record of government spending ever created.  Every year it is on display in hundreds of classrooms, and by thousands of information hungry tax payers.

If you can assist with some time-to-time question answering, please email me at Jess@WallStats.com

Thank you!
